This thing looks like a spaceship. This will have an amazing effect on drag, and should create a nice performance boost. A stick controlled Atos. Hmmm, maybe Brightstar, makers of the swift and millenium, had it right all along.

Nice looking air toy for sure but remember it's the simplicity of the a hangglider that makes it so safe...
The More moving parts you have the more moving parts you have
to fail.... Weve already had deployments due to inflight spoiler failure......

And getting INS. FORGETABOUTIT

Yeah, the complexity is a bit high for me too. But, the XC hounds wont be able to resist it. Trade offs, trade offs.

The wing is an absolute beauty. It'll probably up the UFO sightings though ;)

Sure it's cool but i wouldn't want to carry it up our local hills and launch it off them. Most certainly i wouldn't want to land it in any of our lz's...

Call me old fashioned but i love the conventional hang glider. It's light, looks good, has performance enough and they're a blast to fly! :)

Pretty much yeah, but with the difference that it is basically built to fly without the tail, or at least would be relatively easy to modify to be used without one, so it's a flying wing design instead of a traditional airplane. And it looks ten times cooler than any sailplane I've seen!

Hmm I would figure moving the mass of the pilot into the wing would cause some stability issues with out the tail.

The new Atos gliders have articulating tails and they can not be removed (with out modification) We have a guy who flies an older Atos with out a tail. He wanted a new Atos and a mosuito powered harness. Since he would not be able to remove the tail, he would not be able to use the mosuito with it, thus he did not buy a new one.

Just me adding 2+2, I really don't know anything about them.

The factory allows the VX to flown without tail if using a PH and a modified keel is available for the VR that shortens it to allow the use of a PH.

Check out the AIR website for details.

On the pictures it looks like the tail on this ATOS does service as an elevator... If that's the case, i wouldn't want to take it off... :)

Good point. Without weight shifting for pitch control you need to have an elevator or some other aerodynamic surface to do the job. So it's not a pure flying wing after all
