Amateur documentary of the 2nd Annual National Soaring and Hang Gliding Festival which was held at Frankfort, Michigan on the bluffs at Lake Michigan June 29 to July 6 in 1974. This original previously unseen 16mm footage was filmed and edited by Robert E. Lorey (1933-2004). The generic music was added by the DVD transfer company, turn it down and listen to your own favorite music while watching!

Thanks for the memories. I attended the 1975 event in Fankfort which was a blast.

Really cool.. I have to admit that I miss the old days... Our sport has come a long way, but there was a really cool vibe back in the mid seventies. Perhaps HG could have been really huge if we'd had the training thing better figured out back then.

Nice to see some familiar faces. I remember Hall Brock, who was around the same age as me back then.
