Tough day at the hill. Mike S launched 10 min before me and climbed out a bit. Rick was on his way up reporting the wind was blowing the opposite direction, East. (WTF?)
I dismissed it as a thermal. (That was a mistake, conditions changed and it didnt get good until a few hours later)
Then I launched and we got flushed. Wind in the LZ was E flying down, then proceeded to blow N, S, W, L & V.
Some thermic activity was playing games and the LZ is not level makes it tough to commit to a direction with switching winds.
I caught something and tried to climb out 100' over the LZ, eventually landing.
Later it was better and Jim had I nice flight making the airport. I played with the bag and had a couple 45 min flights with a few top landings.
Fun day :-)
