I would like to see a list of the places people have flown. Maybe for those of you with a lot of experience you could give out your top 10 or so.

Maybe give a little info on your favorite 1 or 2 sites and why, and maybe a little info on your least favorite and why (if you have one)

I am fairly inexperienced so my list is short:

1. Steptoe Butte, WA (small mountain in the middle of rolling hills)
2. Tekoa, WA (small mountain site) also the site of my tandem ride
3. Squaw Butte, ID (mountain site)
4. Pickles Butte, ID (“cliff” launch—I would consider it a semi-cliff launch)
5. Ed Levin, CA
6. Waddell Bluff, CA
7. Marina State Beach, CA
8. Fort Funston, CA
9. Knightston (aerotowing), CA

I am quite fond of them all but I think Tekoa was my favorite, I think it is mainly because it is the first time I got over launch. I ridge soared it, and actually thermaled for my first time there. Basically my first non-sled ride.

Lets hear where you have been!''
(EDIT to update list :mosh: )

Some definitely cool lists. Rad and SG, I'd like to hear some of the stories IRL sometime.

Crestline
Dunlap
Santa Barbara

I may get to Funston before my first year is out. Maybe this weekend if Dunlap's a no-go.

Little did I know when I got into the sport that I picked one of the best places to learn.

Hey franklingrx,

Krome Ave? Where do you fly there? Is there a levy or something , detention center walls? Whatever it is, if it's soarable, I'd like to check it out. Can you tell me where it is? If it's secret, pm me and I won't tell nobody! What about Boca and West Palm? Are there soarable dunes there? Can you give any details about these sites...wind speed and direction needed needed to soar, rules, how to get there, etc. Don't hold out on me brother!

THANX
