OK guys, this is probably a dumb question but here goes. With the "new" (V3) version of XC skies, say I'm looking at a map of my area of interest with the color coding set to show top of usable lift and wind arrows set to show wind at 4K agl-- now, what exactly do I do to select a specific location of interest from the map, and then get a graph of say thermal height versus time for the next 3 days? I need to know specific keystrokes or mouse clicks. I figured this out once but then forgot. With the V2 version it was easy. Thanks! Steve

Steve, it is simple. I am using a PC with Chrome browser, no experience using a mobile device with XCSKIES.

First frame is selecting a model to use and then adding wind at 4K AGL

Choose your location on the map and left click, you get this

and then click on Pointcast to get this

I think that is what you are looking for

Thanks so much. I knew it was something simple. I swear a little while ago I tried both right clicks and left clicks without ever seeing that menu. If I have the same problem again I'll suspect that it is something specifically wrong with my browser or computer. It is working now for me but my computer has crashed and rebooted between when I tried it half an hour ago, and now. Anyway, thanks. Steve

That's it-- but is there a way to zoom in on just three days or so, so it is easier to see? I'd like it to look more like this-- (from version 2)-- http://v2.xcskies.com/public/tutorials/points/img4.html --

as it is I'm having trouble seeing exactly where the cloud base is, etc--

Thanks --

Steve, I believe you can accomplish this.

1 - select the model you want
2 - select the metric you want to display (Cloud Base)
3 - Click on the location you want the Point cast
4 - You will the dialog box shown the different models with the metric you choose (cloud base)
5 - to only see two or three days go the point cast display and use the scroll button with your mouse to zoom in or out
6 - The white line at the top is cloud base

and when you zoom in

My laptop doesn't have a scroll wheel or button, but I've now found that a quick double-click with the left-hand "mouse" (fingerpad) button zooms the graph in. I can see it much better now!

OK, so left-clicking was the key on a laptop-- now, how do I do the same thing on a Samsung J3 (Android) mobile phone?

Again, I'm trying to access the "PointCast" feature-- to display a graph of thermal height versus time.

Thanks
