Honestly, this is more embarrassing than a source of pride so I thought I'd just get it over with. I'm in third place behind newshound followed by sg and Jason right on my heels.

Congrats! That's a good sum of posts. I wonder if all of that data accumulates in SG's server.

10K and that does not include all your CSS & SHGA forum, Youtube postings and comments not to mention all those porn forums

Jon, my friend, I hope you will be around to post another 10K, before hanging up your wings.

See you in the air, Alan

Better to do some good posts than just a good sum of posts.

10,000 is a LOT
I figured the newshound had to be in the stratosphere. My own post total reflects on an abundance of brief statements or just a string of emoticons in many cases.

I think I need to spend more time in the LZ and less in my mommy's basement.

An impressive body of work. I've enjoyed your xc flights and narration.

NMERider: That's a lot of bla bla.
I have a pilot friend who thinks the org is a bunch of pilots who don't fly but just rant. I see her point of view but I tell her to check out the cool stuff NMERider puts on the org.
Those who know, do
Those who can't do, teach
Those who can't teach, preach
Those who can't preach, coach.
You are the doer, teacher, and preacher but do you coach?
It starts with an " Ata, boy."
I believe half the fun of flying is talking about it.
Thanks for your posts and stay in the spot light.

There's a lot of combined experience among currently active pilots on the Org. I'm just one voice among many. This used to be a real buzzing beehive of activity but that has died down considerably over the past few years. One major contributor got booted off and another died from skin cancer. Several good contributors died in hang gliding accidents. Many pilots got sick and tired of the BS and abandoned ship. I've gone through a bunch of these phases myself. Obviously anyone looking for answers and good information may have their work cut out for them to learn how to search the forum going back through 2007. There is still plenty of good information that's just sitting there. Who knows what the future holds in store?

Just adding my congratulations and appreciation for posts that are "signal above the noise". Narrated flight videos always entertaining and inspirational - must take a good deal of time to do well. Hope you make it over this side of the pond sometime, or me over there - desert flying looks like fun.

Thank John, I like that expression. For me it's extremely difficult to talk when I'm alone in front of the PC (unless I've had enough lubricant - stout generally). If I went over the flights together with another pilot I'd probably have a better narrative. I could always try it remotely with GoToMeeting or Skype and try recording that.

Yes, I'd love to travel while I'm still active but poor health keeps me pretty close to home. It's great to meet pilots from around the globe when they're visiting but travel would be pretty cool.

Thanks Pablo. I'm at a loss for words here.
Yeah, I guess I should have been more explicit here.

Rather than congratulations I had in mind a big thank you. Why ? Well, before I bumped into the long time gone NMERider YT channel, only sparsely I did watch HG vids, most of them being the usual boring TO+landing vids with some famous pop/rock rusty theme in the background. But then there they were ! The more detailed videos with animations, tracks, flight descriptions, decisions, ups and downs in the endless struggle of staying airborne... Wow, they were really XC videos !! :ahh: :ahh: :ahh:

Bad times when the great YT channel disappeared. And great times again when it resurrected, more than once with different names
:yay: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

And then one thing led to the other. From YT to "the org" forum, where so much of good advise is found in such a variety of topics: equipment, technique, safety, more great vids from a variety of great posters... and yes, a lot of noise. But signal clearly pops up from guys like you and some others (which I don't mention not to dismiss those I'll for sure forget). In this context of sensible comments and fine advice I wouldn't take your 10k as an accomplishment, rather a plain consequence of helping keeping this community alive also in the virtual world, where borders are mostly ignored.

Yeah, maybe now it makes more sense to say "congratulations" :mosh:
