I suspect that this had a lot to do with a change in the "crew rest" rules that is driving the airline industry insane. A recent change classifies standby crews as "working", even though they aren't doing anything, which starts the clock ticking on when they're not allowed to fly. Ridiculous.

Our on-time numbers are taking a hit for it and it's one of the things we spend a lot of time getting right. Argh.
